Upcycled Design & Decor for The Vintage Aesthetic
About Me

Thank you so much for coming by! Here's a little about me:
I married a Musician With A Day Job from Glasgow, Scotland in 1990 and I am the descendent of a Russian Gypsy wrestler, with a little French & German thrown in, so we have a pretty eclectic household! We have two sons, one daughter, and right now, four dogs and one tarantula! I've almost always been a WAHM. I love all things vintage, retro, DIY, decor, design, sewing, furniture refinishing, upcycling, & repurposing. Not to mention technology, music, and video games! I particularly adore old movies (especially silent and classic horror movies), will attend almost any kind of festival, and can blow hours rummaging through thrift stores. I read everything, I'm a news junkie, and I am a big animal welfare advocate! If you would like to know some more weird facts about me (because I *am* weird), click HERE.If you ever have a question or need to contact me, don't even hesitate! Just click HERE.And, BTW, I adore comments and I respond to each and everyone - by E-Mail! So, if you are a NO-REPLY commenter, check out THIS LINK to fix that, so I can chat with you!

The "WTWTW" Friday Movie Review!
Hey, everyone! With Kristy on a blog break this week, I'm bringing you the Friday movie review today on my own and we think it's a fantastic movie that a lot of people either haven't seen or have forgotten about. But, this weekend is The Oscars and this is one of the best winners from the past.
Plus, after the review, I'm going to give me my predictions for the winners of the 2013 Oscars. So let's get started!
The "WTWTW" Friday Movie Review!
Hi, my lovelies! Did you have a wonderful Valentine's Day? Did you pig out on chocolate? Do you want to choke your significant other for putting delicious chocolate turtles in front of you for Valentine's Day, thereby basically forcing you to eat every bit of their pecan-caramel-chewy goodness? Oh, is that just me? Oops...
OK, while I go dig out a pair of fat pants and berate myself for having a complete lack of self-control, Chad is here with another awesome review for you and no guilt at all (damn him) because he celebrated a chocolate-free Single Awareness Day.
So, I'm turning you over to Chad now, because this fat pants thing is gonna get ugly! LOL Have a great weekend, y'all!
Happy Valentine's Day, Hubster!
Dear Hubster,
I thought this being Valentine's Day, I would write you a deeply private, personal, romantic, thoughtful, appreciative letter to tell you exactly how much you mean to me and have meant to me all these years...
...And then post it on my blog! ![]()
I *Need* New Glasses!
(This is a sponsored post)
I am so fed up with my current glasses, honestly. I can throw together the cutest, quirkiest outfits, but I never replace my glasses for two reasons: 1) I don't wear them all the time and 2) I have no idea how to shop for eyeglasses or what looks good on me! Seriously, I can pick clothes, but I'm totally lost as to what looks good on my face. I normally get fed up, buy the cheapest frames I can find, and stuff them in a drawer until I really need them. And I almost never wear them out, like I did this past weekend!
This was The Hubster and I Saturday night. We went out at the last minute and I didn't bother getting all done up. Those glasses are probably close to six years old!
I know the prescription is wrong, but they are better than nothing. I thought the frames were OK when I bought them, but when I see pictures of myself in them, I'm less than thrilled. That's the problem. I'm lost when it comes to glasses! That's why I was actually kind of thrilled when GlassesUSA.com contacted me about doing a post for them!
The Monday Morning "Goodwill Hunting" Report!
Hi, cuties!! How was your weekend? You'll have to excuse me if I'm dragging here a bit today. The Hubster and I were strong-armed into ripping out wall-to-wall carpeting, not to mention about a gazillion staples and carpet tack strips. My darling mum-in-law decided to pull out the carpet in her master bedroom and, being the crafty little Scottish lady she is, she lured us in with crispy bacon, biscuits and honey, sausage, and stewed tomatoes. Before we knew it, we had tools in hand and cramps in our knees.
But, while the guys were moving the heaviest furniture in the world, The Girl Child, along with my sis-in-law and my niece, managed to get some Goodwill Hunting in!
The "WTWTW" Friday Movie Review!
Hi, dolls! You know, I'm always glad to see Friday roll around, but I'm extra-super-duper glad to this one! This is been "one of those weeks" in spades! It's just been a frustrating, one-step-forward, two-steps-back kind of week. Plus, The Hubster is taking the day off work. He has to be in at the dentist's office this morning to finish up his root canal and to see how long the dentist will let him push off the other dental work he needs done. So I'm hoping he comes home from the dentist ready to enjoy three days off and not crabby. LOL
Since I'm going to be spending the day with my honey, I'm going to pass this off to Chad, will another pre-Oscar-edition WTWTW movie review!
Have a great weekend, everyone and take it away, Chad!
